He’s not a household name, but local product Ruben Holcomb is on an NFL roster.
The University of Indianapolis alum signed Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 90-man roster.
Holcomb is a 6-4, 320-pound offensive lineman from Fort Wayne Snider High School who was a Division II All-American in his senior season. He started 44 games at UIndy, including all 12 at left tackle in 2017.
In an interview with nfldraftdiamonds.com earlier this year, Holcomb said he tries to mimic the Dallas Cowboys’ Tyron Smith.
“He is a true technician and uses his size, quick feet and leverage to overpower most defenders,” Holcomb said.
Former UIndy receiver Reece Horn spent some time in NFL camps, including the Indianapolis Colts’.
